Stuff the Bus

Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County will hold its annual "Stuff the Bus" project on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 9:00am-1:00pm at Walmart in Covington, and the Kroger in Atoka. The bus above looks pretty empty, but you can help us fill it up by purchasing school supplies for the children of Tipton County. We hope to see you out and about on that day and are grateful for any donations made.

Scholarship Reception

Junior Auxiliary recently held its scholarship reception on May 21st. This years reception not only honored our scholarship recipients, but our Junior JAs as well. Guests enjoyed a variety of hors d' ourves, cake, and punch, as the 2008-2009 education chair, Heather Comer, presented 3 high school seniors with the Ann Sanford Memorial Scholarship. Junior JA chairmen, Camille Ballard and Amy Lenagar, presented each of the attending Junior JAs with certificates and tote bags.

Life and Associate Members Social

Junior Auxiliary will hold its first Life/Associate dessert and coffee social on Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. The social will be at Old Town Hall's "Cafe on the Square" - 110 E. Court Square in Covington. We hope to see all of our Life and Associate ladies there!

May Luncheon

Junior Auxiliary held its annual "May Luncheon" this past Sunday, April 26 at the home of Noel Howe. May Luncheon, held every year in May (this year in April due to scheduling conflicts) gives members the opportunity to pay tribute to a successful year and honor its outgoing Life/Associate members and provisionals. It is a time when we, the ladies of Junior Auxiliary, can look back at a job well done and honor our ladies who have over excelled in their duties and expectations as JA members. Job well done!

Bookworm Buddies!

Junior Auxiliary will hold it's next "Bookworm Buddies" this Saturday, April 25 at the Tipton County Public Library, located at 300 West Church Avenue in Covington. Bookworm Buddies will begin at 10:00 am.

The story for this Saturday is "Curious George Visits the Library." Come and listen as George goes to the library for story hour and receives his very own library card. Children will also make a craft and take home a free copy of the book. How exciting! See you there!

Brittany Russell is the 11-year-old powerhouse performer from Memphis, Tennessee who fronts her very own band with authority. Winner of Radio Disney’s Hannah Montana Singing Contest, Winner of Macy’s Hannah Montana Singing Contest, Winner of State of Tennessee Reflection Songwriting Competition, Brittany is either on stage or on her way to a performance.Brittany is a professional trained vocalist who loves to perform not only in front of her band but in musical theater, choir and ensemble choir as well as in the studio. Brittany has recorded commercials for Radio Disney and along with her band, Brittany Russell & The Trunk Monkeys, have performed on live TV and various stages thru out Memphis and the mid south region. Brittany is a published songwriter and has recorded radio 'Jingles' for national corporations.
