Update

2008 was a great year for Junior Auxiliary. We helped a lot of families during the holidays, more than we expected to be able to help. We owe a special thank you to the Covington Jaycee's and the Tipton County Board of Education for their donations. We also want to thank all the people who referred and helped screen our families. Megan Tatlock has really been good with Child welfare, she has a huge heart and loves to help.
I have to say that I have been blessed with a great board this year, everyone has done great with their jobs. Thank you all! The entire chapter is full of energy and reading and willing to do whatever task is put before them. We are an awesome group of women!
Our first Breakfast with Santa was a hit, and we all had a lot of fun. Melanie Sprenkle, who is finance chair has done a awesome job! Melanie is now busy planning our biggest event of the year CHARITY BALL!

Project Excell

One of the fun things that we have had the opportunity to participate in this year has been Project Excell which is a grant-funded after-school program.
Students in third through fifth grades participate in an after school program three days a week.
Participants receive help with their homework, snacks, reading activities, and other activities.
This month, we were at CIAA and were able to help the students make chex mix and caramel apples. They loved being able to add their ingedients to the recipe! They really enjoyed dipping their apples in caramel but their favorite part was eating them!

Enjoy the pictures!
